Role Mandate:
Meta is looking for a Visual Designer to join the Brand Design team to elevate the visual design of in-product experiences for Facebook. The core focus for this product creative team is to elevate the creative direction by crafting dynamic product experiences to bring the Facebook brand across the app.
In every context, we aim to build a connection between our products and the people who use them. We do this through defining holistic visual systems that enable brand expression including visual design, illustration, animation, and interactive moments. We also craft guidance and supporting structures that ensure our brand remains consistent, coherent, and harmonious when used at scale.
As a Visual Designer, this individual will be hands-on with pushing the visual design and work independently to up-level the craft of product experiences through their creative direction. They will collaborate with creative, content, design and product teams to ensure a cohesive brand expression across the Facebook app.
Candidate Value Proposition:
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and high-craft visual designer who can clearly articulate design decisions, produce/ideate concepts at high-volume and has strong collaboration skills. From quick, rough ideation to polished final deliverables, this role will “think outside the box” and is a tastemaker pushing past industry standards for creativity. Candidates should have a broad range of experience working on a variety of projects with multiple partners in an accelerated working environment.
Role Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
Ideating visual concepts, executing on design direction and strong QC refinements
Deliver best-in-class visual design that sets the bar for the creative
Develop visual identity systems, platforms and styles within graphic design, product design, illustration, iconography and/or typography
Extensive experience with brand expression within a digital product or mobile app
Clearly articulate creative direction and design rationale to a variety of multidisciplinary partners/teams
Give and solicit feedback feedback from your creative team, product design partners, and cross-functional peers
Collaborate daily with peers across many disciplines, including product design, engineering, marketing, content, data science and research to take product from conception to launch
Independently work on multiple projects at a high caliber level while keeping project timelines and deliverables on track
Must-Have Skills:
5+ yrs experience encompassing interaction design and visual design with proficiency designing across platforms
A portfolio that demonstrates branding, product and/or communication design experience
Demonstrated experience with engaging and/or shipping projects that launched
Demonstrated experience with digital transformation, design system thinking and/or visual systems creation
Able to flex thinking from strategy to creative to user experience to tactical
Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex, sometimes abstract, concepts clearly and persuasively — Can explain the “whys” behind decisions and direction, is open to being wrong, and has a point of view and can represent it with conviction
Ability to take design feedback and incorporate it quickly
Track record of operating independently, demonstrating creative leadership, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in a highly organized manner
Experience in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, AI Creation Tools (i.e. Meta AI, Midjourney)
Education:
Bachelors’s degree in design or related field or equivalent experience required
