Temporary Robotics Deployment Engineer

About the Role

Meta is seeking a temporary engineer to support the deployment, integration, and testing of learned policy models on robotic systems within our lab environments. This is a time-bound, contract position focused on achieving specific operational deployment objectives and deliverables; it is not a pathway to full-time employment at Meta.

Responsibilities

The individual in this role will:
Manage end-to-end robotics system deployment activities, including site preparation, integration, configuration, and comprehensive validation testing.
Execute deployment checklists, commissioning procedures, and functional verification in lab settings.
Diagnose and resolve hardware/software integration issues, coordinating with relevant technical teams.
Develop clear technical documentation, including deployment procedures, known issue logs, and operational runbooks, to ensure repeatability and safety.
Support rollout, upgrade, and decommissioning activities as necessary during the assignment.
Strictly adhere to all required safety practices and operational guidelines during on-site work and testing.
Provide timely and clear updates on deployment status, identifying any risks or blockers.
Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
experience in supporting, deploying, or troubleshooting complex hardware/software systems (robotics, automation, mechatronics, or electro-mechanical systems) in lab, field, or production environments.
Practical experience in the integration, deployment, and validation of complex systems.
Familiarity with standard debugging tools and workflows (e.g., scripting, basic networking, logs, sensor/actuator bring-up).
Demonstrated ability to follow established procedures, maintain accurate records, and create clear technical documentation.
Ability to work on-site and travel locally/regionally as required for deployment activities.
Must be authorized to work in the United States (sponsorship is not provided for this temporary role).
This role requires a Robotics Engineer background experience in developing and deploying learned robot policies for robotic manipulation on real robots.
