Project Coordinator II

Apply for the Position

Role Overview
The Project Coordinator II (PC II) is an operational and program leadership role responsible for driving quality, scale, and execution across multiple data collection teams and workflows. This role owns end-to-end program health for complex labeling initiatives, including quality tracking, workforce readiness, tooling strategy, and cross-functional alignment with Product, Research, Engineering, and Ops partners.
The PC II operates as a program lead for annotation systems, translating high-level product and research goals into scalable execution frameworks while continuously improving quality, efficiency, and contributor experience. This role reports directly to the program manager (PjM) who owns the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
Program & Initiative Ownership
Own and drive large-scale annotation program initiatives from concept through execution, including:
Structured onboarding frameworks for new CWs
End-to-end program overhaul (ownership models, tracking, escalation paths)
Development and maintenance of golden set and benchmark datasets
Leaderboard auditing and integrity frameworks
Annotation curation structures to support training, evals, and RL pipelines
Define clear program goals, success metrics, timelines, and ownership models across initiatives.
Identify operational gaps and proactively design scalable solutions to address quality, throughput, or reliability risks.

Quality Strategy & Tracking
Own quality measurement strategy across multiple annotation teams, including:
Metric definition (accuracy, consistency, inter-annotator agreement, drift)
Ongoing quality tracking, reporting, and analysis
Root-cause analysis for quality regressions and variance
Partner with research and product teams to align quality standards with model needs.
Drive continuous quality improvement through audits, feedback loops, calibration sessions, and golden set usage.

Team Leadership & Workforce Management
Lead and coordinate multiple annotation teams across skill sets, languages, and modalities.
Act as the operational leader for the annotation workforce in H2, including:
Capacity planning
Skill mix strategy
Performance monitoring and escalation
Mentor and guide team leads and senior contributors, setting clear expectations and operational standards.
Ensure strong contributor experience while maintaining high performance and quality bars.

Cross-Functional Communication & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary point of contact after the PjM, for cross-functional partners (Product, Research, Eng, Safety, Ops).
Translate ambiguous or evolving product requirements into clear, executable annotation plans.
Drive regular program updates, risk reporting, and decision-making forums with senior stakeholders.
Align XFN partners on priorities, timelines, quality tradeoffs, and operational constraints.

Tooling, Automation & AI Enablement
Evaluate, pilot, and deploy scalable tooling to improve annotation operations, including:
Internal “vibe-coding” tools that materially improve speed, quality, or insight
AI-assisted workflows using tools and emerging internal systems
Partner with engineering and tooling teams to define requirements and influence roadmap priorities.
Ensure tooling solutions are production-ready, scalable, and aligned with long-term program needs.

Process Design & Continuous Improvement
Design and document standardized workflows for onboarding, training, quality review, escalation, and reporting.
Establish repeatable operating rhythms (weekly quality reviews, audits, retrospectives).
Continuously identify opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve signal-to-noise, and increase operational clarity.

Required Qualifications
5+ years experience in operations, program management, project coordination, or similar roles.
Proven experience leading complex, multi-team programs with measurable outcomes.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret quality metrics and operational data.
Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Research, and Engineering teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting ML, data annotation, evaluation, or content operations programs.
Familiarity with dataset curation, golden sets, benchmarks, or leaderboard-style evaluations.
Experience deploying AI-assisted tools or automation in operational environments.
Demonstrated ability to design systems in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

Impact
The Project Coordinator II plays a critical role in scaling high-quality annotation programs that directly power model training, evaluation, and iteration. Success in this role materially improves data quality, operational efficiency, and cross-functional velocity across the organization.
