AI Prompt Engineer
We are seeking an innovative AI Prompt Engineer to shape the future of AI-driven content and interaction at Meta. This role will serve as the bridge between product, marketing, and creative teams, crafting and optimizing prompts that power our most advanced AI systems. The successful candidate will be an expert in text to video and video to video prompting, continually pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with language models and generative AI. This person must have a strong background in prompt engineering, natural language processing, or related fields, and be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of delivering impactful AI solutions across diverse applications.
Key Responsibilities
Prompt Design / Hands-on Work
Design, test, and refine prompts to optimize AI model outputs for clarity, accuracy, and creativity across a variety of use cases and products.
Represent the Meta brand by ensuring AI-generated content aligns with our values, tone, and user expectations.
Develop and iterate on prompt libraries, templates, and best practices to drive consistency and excellence in AI interactions.
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, researchers, and designers to integrate prompt engineering into product development cycles and user experiences.
Management / Leadership
Partner with cross-functional teams—including Product, Engineering, Research, UX, and Legal—to define and implement scalable prompt engineering frameworks.
Drive alignment across internal stakeholders on prompt strategy, quality standards, and ethical considerations.
Serve as a subject matter expert and advocate for prompt engineering, educating teams on best practices and emerging trends in generative AI.
Lead efforts to monitor, evaluate, and improve prompt performance using data-driven insights and user feedback.
Skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to craft clear, concise, and effective prompts and guidelines.
A deep understanding of the capabilities and limitations of different AI models to craft prompts that optimize their performance.
Strategic, analytical, and creative mindset with a passion for experimentation and iteration.
Strong collaboration skills; comfortable working with technical and non-technical partners to achieve shared goals.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and evolving environment.
Experience with prompt engineering, natural language processing, or large language models (LLMs) preferred.
Comfortable independently driving projects, but willing to dive into hands-on work as needed.
Qualifications
Portfolio or examples showcasing prompt engineering work or relevant AI/NLP projects.
Experience working with large language models, generative AI, or conversational AI platforms.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a technology or product-driven environment.
Familiarity with data analysis and using insights to inform prompt optimization.
5+ years of relevant experience in AI, NLP, product, or related fields.
